DISCOVERING TUSCANY

Nel post di oggi, oltre a scusarmi delle numerose assenze che sto facendo (vi prometto, però, che da metà luglio in poi sarò più costante), vorrei segnalarvi un posto a dir poco FANTASTICO. Si tratta delle Cantine Banfi a Montalcino, di proprietà di una famiglia italo-americana.
Io le ho visitate qualche settimana fa; non era molto caldo e c'era ancora un'aria primaverile.
Devo dire che la strada per arrivarci non è stata proprio semplicissima e anche un po' tortuosa, ma ne è valsa sicuramente la pena.
Mi hanno accolto una visita guidata interessantissima alle cantine, una presentazione della cantina da parte del marketing manager e, per chiudere in bellezza, un pranzo da leccarsi i baffi.
Vorrei condividere con voi alcuni scatti di questa meravigliosa giornata e consigliarvi una visita a questo posto magnifico.
Qui si può anche pernottare in una delle suite (i prezzi sono abbastanza alti, ma vi assicuro che il rapporto qualità-prezzo è notevole), fare visite alla cantina, al castello Banfi e, perché no, muoversi e visitare anche i paesi vicini.
Sicuramente si tratta di un itinerario enogastronomico molto interessante.


In today's post, I would like to apologize with you because of to the absences I'm doing (I promise you, though, that from mid-July I will be more constant), and I would like to talk to you about an AWESOME place: the Cantine Banfi in Montalcino, owned by an Italo-American family.
I've visited it a few weeks ago, it wasn't very hot and there was still an air of spring.
I must say that the way to get there was not really very simple and even a little tortuous, but it was worth the effort.
I received a very interesting guided tour of the cellars, a presentation of the cellar by the marketing manager and, to top it off, a mouth-watering lunch.
Let me share with you some shots of this wonderful day; I suggest you to visit this magnificent place.
Here you can also stay in one of the suites (prices are fairly high, but I assure you that the value is significant), making visits to the winery, to the Banfi castle, and why not, move and also visit neighboring countries.
Surely it could be a very attractive holiday.

POLITALY

Come non scrivere un post su queste elezioni?

E' inevitabile.

Sto seguendo in tempo reale uno di questi programmi che analizzano i risultati elettorali, anche se per il momento non si parla di dati sicuri.

Ora si parla molto di Grillo. Bè, che dire?! Basta solo un dato: praticamente in tutta Italia il M5S ha fatto il botto! In Sicilia e non solo è stato il primo partito: anche nelle Marche e in Abruzzo ha vinto, rispettivamente con il 33 e con il 30%.

Ma ricapitoliamo un po' la situazione: al primo posto troviamo il PD, poi il PDL e al terzo posto il M5S, segue Monti e poi tutto il resto. Questo sia alla Camera che al Senato.

Tra l'altro, non per dire qualcosa, ma mi stupisco ancora della gente che ha il coraggio di votare Casapound. Ma siamo pazzi??? Possibile che debba esistere ancora il fascismo?! Sono senza parole!!!

Ma ecco che, sempre in diretta, sto ascoltando Mario Monti che cerca di abbozzare un discorso relativo alla sua perdita. Comunque pare molto soddisfatto, a detta sua, alla luce di alcuni elementi tipo i tempi brevi (ha annunciato, infatti, di volersi candidare solo il 4 gennaio senza un'esperienza politica alle spalle). A mio parere, però, Monti è partito con degli obiettivi ben più alti rispetto a quelli effettivamente raggiunti in termini di voti ricevuti, quindi direi che ha ricevuto una bella sconfitta.

Per quanto riguarda Bersani.. a dire il vero non avrei mai detto che avrebbe ottenuto un così vasto consenso. 

Invece, chi mi aspettavo che avrebbe vinto con tutta quella propaganda che si è fatto a partire dal programma di Santoro seguito da ben 9 milioni di italiani, è stato proprio chi, a mio parere, ci ha ridotti alla stregua della Grecia e che continuerà a farlo se solo i risultati elettorali portassero ad un cambiamento drastico proprio all'ultimo.

Anche le principali testate giornalistiche nel mondo parlano di noi: il Washington Post parla di Grillo come colui che tiene in mano il futuro dell'eurozona; il Financial Times e il Wall Street Journal affermano che gli italiani stanno rifiutando palesemente le politiche di austerity del governo Monti. I tedeschi invece si chiedono perchè Berlusconi si senta già vincitore.

Quindi, direi proprio che non ci rimane che aspettare e sperare per il meglio.

Male che va si torna a votare.

How not write a post about this elections?

I'm following in real time one of these programs that analyze the election results, although for the moment there is no mention of certain data.

Now there is many voices about Grillo. Well, what to say! Just a fact: in many parts of Italy, the M5S is a big success! In Sicily and not only there, it is the first party: even in Marche and Abruzzo won, respectively with 33 and 30%.

But let's recap a bit 'the situation: in the first place we find the PD, then the PDL and in third place M5S, following Monti and then everything else. 

Among other things, I am still amazed by those people who have the courage to vote Casapound. But are you crazy?? Possible that there should stil exist fascism?! I am speechless!!

But here, again live, I'm listening to Mario Monti trying to draft a speech about his loss. However it seems very satisfied, according to him, in the light of some elements such as the short time (announced, in fact, wanting only candidate on January 4 without political experience behind). In my opinion, however, Monti started with goals much higher than those actually achieved in terms of votes received, so I would say that has received a great defeat.

Regarding Bersani .. To tell the truth I never said that it would get such a broad consensus.

Instead, those who I expected that he would win with all the propaganda that has been done from the Santoro tv program followed by as many as 9 million Italians, it was precisely those who, in my opinion, has reduced us in the same situation of Greece and will continue to do so only if the election results were to lead to a drastic change at the last.

The major newspapers in the world about us: The Washington Post dedicate an article about Grillo as the one who holds the future of the eurozone, the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal said that the italians are clearly rejecting the austerity policies of the Monti government. The Germans wonder why Berlusconi instead feels winner.

So, I would say that what we can do is wait and hope for the best.

EATALY, A PART OF ITALY IN THE WORLD

Ciao ragazzi! Dopo qualche giorno di intenso studio, eccomi qua.

Vorrei esordire questa settimana con un post su Eataly, un gruppo presente in molte parti del mondo (Italia, Giappone e Stati Uniti) in cui oltre a poter acquistare cibi pregiati e di qualità, si può anche mangiare.

Per l'appunto, proprio qualche giorno fa sono andata a farci pranzo col mio ragazzo e devo dire che abbiamo mangiato benissimo. 

Sorge in un punto strategico, infatti è facilissimo da raggiungere se si scende alla fermata Piramide (metro B).

Ci siamo fermati alla birreria al primo piano e lì abbiamo ordinato un piatto di salumi e formaggi, mozzarella di bufala e pomodorini. Devo dire che era tutto eccellente: il prosciutto crudo era di un color rosa intenso e anche tagliato molto fino. Una bontà!!! 

Certo, il prezzo era abbastanza alto (un pranzo del genere è costato più di un sushi), ma direi che ne è valsa la pena data la qualità del cibo e delle bevande. Personalmente, non ho preso la birra ma il mio ragazzo che è un tipo molto puntiglioso ha apprezzato particolarmente quindi direi che ci si può fidare ;)

Vi posto le foto del pranzo, giusto per farvi venire un po' di appetito e invogliarvi ad andare anche se non a mangiare, a fare un giro all'interno o semplicemente a prendere un caffè con un dolcetto!

Hello guys! After a few days of intense study, here I am.

I would like to begin this week with a post about Eataly, a group that you can find in many parts of the world (Italy, Japan and the United States) where in addition you can buy food of quality and here you can also eat.

Just few days ago I went there for lunch with my boyfriend and I have to say that we had a wonderful meal.

It is located in a strategic point, in fact it is easy to reach if you arrive at the metro stop named "Piramide" on the line B. 

We stopped at the brewery on the first floor, where we ordered a plate of cold cuts and cheese, buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. I must say that everything was excellent: the ham was characterized by a deep pink color. A goodness!

Of course, the price was quite high (a lunch like that costs more than sushi), but I have to say that the quality of the food and the beverages was proportional to the price. Personally, I did not order the beer but my boyfriend, who is very picky, particularly appreciated it, so I think you can trust ;)

I'll post photos of the lunch, just to get you a little appetite and tempt you to go even if not to eat, for a ride inside or just to have a coffee with a piece of cake!
